How to buy designer items on a budget

January 8, 2018

Quite possibly one the most frequently asked questions from myself and from others is how do afford designer pieces. It's an honest and whole question to ask. Ask my dad says to the man that enters the door make sure you make enough money to support her shopping addiction. Well yes he is correct but also I don't just buy to buy. Instead, if I see an "investment piece" as I call it and I desire to own it. I get "real". What would I have to spend what is the max ill pay etc.

Personally, I am becoming a budgeter when it comes to my finances. At times I find clothing and other things to be such a waste in one's wardrobe. However I will go and splurge on accessories, those consist of, bags, clutches, jewelry scarfs etc. Mostly because the resale value of those are amazing and you know you can double the value and profit. (If we can't tell here I am in fact business savvy when it comes to my wardrobe.)

I also am a huge fan of the concept designer second hand. Yes, sites like Tradsey, and the Real Real and even Poshmark are ones that take up space on my phone. Because nothing is better than scoring a good pair of Chanel flats for half of the price. I am an actual regular on these sites. For me, I take the time to observe the item I want and the prices and then I watch and compare.

But what about it being second hand?
To me, second-hand designer is actually super cool? I find it to have meaning and almost a purpose. I love the idea of someone buying something and it going to this amazing home and being able to have another life to it! I mean isn't that what it is all about?

However, I don't break my mold about finding pieces that are essentials and pieces that I will wear and use in my closet every day!
