If there was one thing my mamma taught me in life, it had to be finding new purposes for things. That always stuck with me. However, it really stuck with me when it came to clothes, shoes, and bags.
Let's face it fall is kinda around the corner and the switch from off the shoulder cute tops is starting to switch to knits and booties. And with August just around the corner, that means a serious switch is about to happen. I have made an official decision to purchase no more summer clothing. instead, I'm starting to switch over to more versatile pieces to wear into the fall.
Hense where this gorgeous sweat shirt/ bell sleeve number came from. I love having pieces in my closet that can be comfortable and yet super comfortable. I mean can we just say that is my entire moto when it comes to Coffee And A Blonde. Comfortable, versatile and staples three things that I can not live without in my life.
What I loved most about this dress is the possibility I had with pairing it with booties and a sweater. These kind, of pieces have to be my absolute favorite in this world. When I was actually on my way to shoot this look I mentioned how in Septemeber I was going to style this dress again. But this time I was going to be showing it off for fall!!! Also, I am lusting over these new sunnies that I snagged from Banna Republic the other day! They are so perfect for right now! The best part is they are under $10!!! So don't run walk!
It's summer and that means white jeans obviously replaces the regular plain jane denim jean that we wear, 6 out of the 12 months. For me finding my perfect white Jean was more than a mission. I spent m5Ronths looking, searching and googling the perfect white denim. If you didn't know I am in college and yes I work but this sister is not breaking the bank for white denim. NO WAY! I am a firm believer that in life you don't have to break the bank to get the perfect garment to fit and complement's you.
I know that I have covered white jeans for your body type before but I thought that it was time to update about how I was able to find the perfect pair. Besides it is one of the most frequently asked question, I get on social media and here on the blog. So I decided to come up with tons of budget friendly options that are perfect for any body shape!
First up has to be sizing!
It is so true, sizing in jeans can be so much smaller than your typical jean brand. So I always say go up a size and be cautious of the material that they are made out of. These Loft ones are made out of a blend of cotton and jean. Making them super stretchy. Always keep that in mind especially when you are looking for your body shape.
Fabric!
As stated above you have to think about the fabric a lot of jeans have movable fabric in them and you want to have a pair that is stretchy. Try to find a pair that has 2% lyrca that is for stretch. Also, you want to make sure you find a pair that isn't so see through. No one wants to be showing off their butt in a white pair of jeans.
Cut!
This has to be a no brainer, legit we know there are a million cuts of jeans that go with a million body types. For me, I am a size 0 in my Loft jeans but I usually get a curvy straight cut. Because I am not a stick and I have a natural curve in my body. So if infact you are a curvy girl try to look for a more high rise jean that will elongate your legs and lean out your body. Just as a girl that has an Hourglass should look for a flare jean because it elongates your legs and hides the heavy you might have with your hips.
Look!
When it comes to the white jean there is so many different ways they come. Straight, cut holes etc. Many of times people love holes in their jeans some hate them. So try to find a pair that complement's you and makes you feel comfortable.
Finally Body type
Keep these in mind when shopping for white jeans and just jeans in general:
Hourglass: High waisted and mid rise is your best friend! These will keep you looking thin
Tall: You are lean mean and you have the legs to show it. Lean, more towards long and straight styles. These are perfect to show off those legs. Pear: curvier hips stay away from super tapered jeans and white jeans. Go with a low rise jean they are going to be your best friend. Plus Size: Darker jeans are your BFF, also look for a good straight leg. Boy Figure: for the ladies who have straight up and down figure, you can rock a good pair of mid rise jeans with a slight boot cut. This makes you look like you have a slight siluate! Which is a win win! Petite: Stick with a good pair of slim- cut of jeans. Almost like a pair of skinny jeans!
Can we all take in that this is my first time shooting photos in about two weeks. Y'all have you ever had a super stressful week that prevents you from getting the things you really want to get done. That was me last week, luckily I had the previous week shot about three posts in advance. I was so glad that I was actually prepared for once!
This previous weekend my cousin was married in a beautiful ceremony. In our hometown, it was so beautiful and so warm! Literally Saturday at 4:00 it was 89 and super humid. I'm positive I sweat out the majority of the food and water I had that day. With that being said, I spent the majority of the week on bridesmaid duties that I was so away from my blog and social media! But let me just say I am so excited to be back! And being back to a normal and nonstressful week!
Now onto today's post!
Like I said on Friday I have been obsessing with mules and slide in's they are so big for summer and they are so cute! I also have been linking tons of pairs on my Instagram that are budget friendly and super cute. However, these adorable ones from groupdeals are so darn cute. Not to mention they are under $30 and the perfect color and heel for summer! And let me just say they are comfortable. I spent the majority of my day yesterday in them. They honestly take the cake comfy, cute and stylish! Is there anything really better than that? As for this adorable dress, a few weeks ago I featured it on my Instagram and let me just say it is so cute! Under $20 and perfect to throw on, any shoe will go with this little number. Which adds that versatility to this piece! Yay for versatility!
Are you guys all about versatility this summer? Wishing you all a wonderful start to your week
How was everyone's weekend? We officially had warm and wonderful weather this past weekend! We had no rain and it was so darn warm! However, I spent the majority of the weekend working which is no fun! But I was able to get out and snag some cute summer pieces on Sunday which I am so pumped about! This was my first weekend that I took a break from social media and let me tell you it was refreshing not worrying about content and "likes". I have been stressing about likes and gains on Instagram and a detox was a well-needed thing!
Now on to today's post!
When I saw this adorable dress from Anges and Dora I instantly fell in love with the print and the shape of this dress! First off it is super comfy and when I say super comfy I mean it! This dress is equivalent to pajamas! Second, it has pockets and we all know how I feel personally when it comes to pockets! I love a good pocket in a dress it is no secret! And I have also been loving cool and soft fabrics for summer and this dress is doing it for me!
Finally I want to thank you guys for all the wonderful feedback from last weeks post! I am so excited to include these ideas into my posts! I always love the support and love I recieve from you guys!
Sorry for no post on Monday! I took a long weekend in New York with friends and I finally am back home and back to my regular everyday schedule! Even though going on a trip is fun and visiting friends! No place is like home, I am so happy to be home and to be back with my family! I will have a huge roundup of my New York trip on Friday!
Now on to today's post! I am obsessed with this gorgeous linen Kate Spade dress! I purchased it last summer at Tj Maxx for $20 bucks literally! I wore it to so many different events last summer! It basically became my go-to wedding dress and baptism dress! I was so excited when I saw it on Kate spade for under $200! I knew I had to pull it out of the archives and throw it on! My favorite thing is how I changed my style with this dress. Last year I styled it completely different! It is crazy how my style has evolved!
