Playing dress up with diamonds

March 12, 2018

One thing I love is going around in the local community and being able to help and support these businesses. Recently in the past few weeks, I had the opportunity to go visit Beeghly and Company Jewelers for an opportunity of a lifetime. I will be the first to admit that I am not a girl that has a ring picked out and I am not a girl that has dreams of a ring. Those two things are something that are not on top of my priorities. So to have the opportunity to come in and help promote an event and try on some GORGEOUS diamond’s. The team at Beeghly & Company has worked with hundreds of engagement ring couples. They have put their heads together and the collective experience over the course of 20 years to develop a process for envisioning the perfect engagement ring.
You can count me in.

We decided for myself, to cover one big topic when it came to engagement rings. And that being the idea of what stone, style, color of metal does one pick. Knowing that so many men do not have a clue when they walk into a jewelry store. And or myself who has no clue what she likes, they decided to school us and help with finding the perfect ring. Did you know that the average man spends $6,351 on an engagement ring, that was 2017 alone? Much higher than in 2011 when it rounded around $5,000.

I decided to throw some quick facts in about engagement rings in a 2017 study alone:

Average Engagement Ring Spend: $6,351 (up from $5,095 in 2011)
Average Time Spent Looking for Ring: 3.5 Months
Average Time Spent Planning a Proposal: 4.4 Months
Average Number of Rings Looked at Before Purchase: 26
Engagement Rings with a Custom Design: 45%
Most Popular Stone Cut: Round (52%)
Average Carat Size for Center Stone: 1.2 carats
Average Carat Size for Total Ring: 1.8 carats
Most Popular Engagement Ring Setting Metal: White Gold (61%)

While I am someone that has no clue what she likes when it comes to a ring it was so much fun taking the time out of my schedule to go and try on and be educated about rings. Being able to see what works best for me and to see what I personally like is something that is so important. SO many people my generation are changing the way they think about engagement rings. For all of my local peeps in the Pittsburgh area make sure to save the date for March 23rd and 24th to take time to find the perfect ring!

Check out their website right here www.beeghlyandcompany.com to reserve your spot for a fun day of finding that ring and or finding the perfect treat yourself gift!
Special THANK YOU to Beeghly and Company Jewelers for having me, and sponsoring this post!

Pink is the new power color

August 27, 2017

Blondes and Hot pink? What is a better combination? I never was a pink girl by any means but recently I have turned into a lover of pink. We all know how much I love this dress from Franchesca's that I purchased back in July. I was eyeing it up for some time now and finally I took the plunge and added to my closet. Truth is it's one of the comfiest and cutest dresses I own in my closet. Since purchasing it I have worn it a hand full of times and have now decided to make it my power color. Just kidding but seriously I am hooked to this color!

Besides my love for this dress, I am starting a two part series where I style some looks for wedding season. I have quite a few weddings that I am going to be attending this September and I decided to share with you guys how I style some dresses in my closet. I am also incorporating some pieces from Prep Obsessed and y'all can we take a moment to take in how gorgeous this pearl necklace is? Legit one of the most gorgeous pearl pieces I own.

I feel like when it comes to wedding season we can have a lot of trouble with finding pieces and dresses. Last year I did a blog post discussing 5 tips and tricks I follow for wedding season. I linked it right here in case you guys want to check it out!

Wishing you all a wonderful Monday!

The best dress for any occasion

May 4, 2017

Happy Thursday everyone!

Wedding season is right around the corner and I know for me picking out dresses can be super tricky. I always have the most trouble looking for dresses for the occasion. I feel like all women have trouble when it comes to this issue. Today I am talking about this little number and also I am sharing some of my tips and tricks for wedding season!

First off this dress is so darn cute! I purchased it at Marshalls off their runway section! I thought that this dress would be a perfect fit for all the formal weddings I have coming up this summer! But then I came home and started looking into the brand. Y'all this dress retails for a solid 500 dollars!!! I snagged it for $29.99 and let me tell you photos don't do it justice! It is a seriously stunning dress that has so much detail on it. I paired it with these gorgeous nude heels which I love so much and they are so so comfy!

With wedding season right around the corner here are some of my tips and tricks when it comes to getting that perfect wedding look!

1. You don't have to invest a lot to look fabulous! Say you want to buy a dress, places like marshalls and Tj Maxx have runway sections where you can get a designer for a fraction of the price! And they always have free exchanges and returns!

2. Rent the Runway! Yes, that's a wonderful site that gives you so many options depending on the event and the type of wedding you are attending! The best part is you can choose the rental time and the option to have an additional dress sent to you!

3.  Take a simple dress and make it yours. This is my favorite tip I have! One summer I attended 4 weddings! Yes, 4!!! I was slightly over the whole entire wedding thing! I invested in a nice white dress and let me tell you I threw a nice bold shoe on and a nice earring. I was hounded with so many complements, dressing up a white dress with gorgeous simple pieces makes a big statement! Especially with summer weddings!

4. Invest in a spray tan or self-tanner. If you are like me and are extremely pale, try getting a good spray tan from your local tanning salon! A lot of places are super affordable and do such a good job! Or try the Jergens Foam, I swear by this stuff! It is one of my favorite products right now and is beyond easy to use!

5. Finally!!! Don't be afraid to go out of your comfort zone. I don't mean go out and buy a backless dress or a dress that has cutouts in it. No!!! Instead look for textures, fabrics cut and styles. Sometimes we are so set with a certain style we never try anything different!

Summer peach: Wedding season style

July 11, 2016

Happy Monday friends!
It feels like the weeks are starting to roll into each other! I have been working like crazy recently so I sorta am losing track of life a little bit! However, I am so excited to finally be sharing my wedding season style with you guys! For me last summer was packed full of weddings and baby showers. But I know the feeling of not knowing what to wear for that outdoor wedding. We have all been there even at 19 I have had these problems! Recently I purchased this darling peach dress from Tj Maxx! (yes I am obsessed with that place) For under $20 and I wore it to a Pittsburgh Blogger event! Then I started to think this dress would be PERFECT for a summer wedding! So I styled it like so and fell in love with the concept of peach in the summertime!

Is anyone else obsessing over peach for summer!?
